Loudoun Democrats Celebrate Historic Election Wins

Virginians pass all three constitutional amendments; Warner and Subramanyam win re-election

Leesburg, VA – The Loudoun County Democratic Committee (LCDC) is celebrating a historic election. Virginia voters approved all three constitutional amendments on the November 3 ballot, enshrining reproductive freedom, marriage equality and voting rights in the Virginia Constitution.

“Virginians made history this election cycle,” said Andrew Coolen, chair of LCDC. “Voters chose to protect fundamental freedoms for ourselves, our neighbors and our children. This is what a community looks like when we show up for each other.”

Sen. Mark Warner was re-elected to the U.S. Senate with 61% of the vote statewide. Rep. Suhas Subramanyam easily won re-election in Virginia’s 10th Congressional District with 61% of the vote, and carried Loudoun County with nearly 66%.

“Our community voted for leaders who deliver,” Coolen said. “We have full confidence that Sen. Warner and Rep. Subramanyam will work on the issues that matter most to Loudoun residents, and to hold this administration accountable with the majority in both the Senate & House.”

Leesburg voters re-elected Mayor Kelly Burk, Vice Mayor Todd Cimino-Johnson and Council Member Neil Steinberg, and elected Brendan Murphy to join them on the Town Council.

Thank you to our volunteers
“None of this is possible without our volunteers,” Coolen added. “Hundreds of dedicated neighbors knocked on doors, made calls, wrote postcards, and staffed polling places through early voting and on Election Day. We are deeply grateful to every one of them.”

Looking ahead
Virginia voters will return to the polls in 2027 to elect state legislators and a full slate of local offices. “Loudoun is ready,” said Coolen. “We are more fired up than ever for next year. The work doesn’t stop and neither do we.”
